Midrand Area Profile
Midrand is situated in Gauteng, centrally between the town areas of Johannesburg and Pretoria. The Midrand node has a well-connected road network consisting of the N1 highway and the Old Pretoria main road passing through its core and peripherals using convenient offramps such as the Allendale Offramp and Olifantsfontein Offramp. This good road network has contributed to growth of the commercial, industrial, retail and residential areas of Midrand.
Commercial and Industrial Business Hub
Midrand is a thriving business hub having its own airport, the Grand Central Airport and a Gautrain Substation which further improves mobility to and from the area and locally. The area has a booming commercial, retail and industrial property section which has become home to some large logistics and warehousing businesses, as well as small to medium enterprises from various sectors. Renowned corporations are resident in the area such as Vodacom, PwC, Deloitte, Liquid Telecoms among many more. Midrand is also home to the largest conference centre in the South Africa, the Gallagher Estate, which hosts many events and conferences throughout the year. Further to this, there is dense network of hotels and bed and breakfast facilities to cater for the relatively high movement in and out the area.
